In short

• The site collects personal information only when you send it, for example by filling in a form or contacting Poonam Babbar.
• It is used to reply to you, to prepare what you asked for, and to send notes you chose to receive.
• This site does not sell personal information and does not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
• You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, at any time.

What is collected

Forms. When you send an enquiry, a valuation request or join the private list, the site receives what you type: your name, email address, phone number (optional), your message, and what you are interested in. A valuation request also includes the property address and when you are thinking of selling. The private list asks for your email address only.

A record of your consent. Each form has a consent box. When you tick it and send the form, the site records that you consented, with the date and time and the page you sent the form from.

Calls, texts, WhatsApp and email. If you contact Poonam Babbar directly, she receives whatever you share. Calls and texts pass through your phone carrier, and WhatsApp is run by a separate company with its own privacy policy.

Technical logs. The company that hosts the site keeps routine server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time. These are used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems.

The site has no accounts and does not take payments or payment details.

Why it is used

• To reply to your message and to prepare what you asked for, such as a private valuation.
• To send occasional Ottawa market notes, only if you joined the private list or otherwise consented.
• To run, secure and improve the website.
• To meet the legal and professional obligations of a registered real estate salesperson and brokerage.

Who handles it

• Poonam Babbar and eXp Realty of Canada, Inc., Brokerage. Form notifications are emailed to Poonam Babbar at her brokerage email address. She and the brokerage may keep your information in the systems they use to manage client relationships and records. The brokerage may also handle it under its own privacy policy.
• Resend is the email delivery service that carries form submissions to Poonam Babbar.
• Vercel hosts the website and runs the code that receives form submissions.

Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, so it may be subject to the laws of those places. Information is shared with them only so they can provide their service. It is not sold, and it is not given to advertisers.

Cookies and embeds

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and its fonts are served from the site itself, not from a third party. If analytics are added in future, this page will be updated first.

Videos. Videos are hosted on YouTube. A video page shows a preview that is hosted on this site, and nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play. The player then loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), which reveals your IP address to YouTube. After that, YouTube’s own terms and privacy policy apply to what you watch.

Links to other sites. Links to social media, the brokerage website and other third-party sites leave this website. Those sites have their own privacy practices.

How long it is kept

Information is kept only as long as it is needed for the purposes above, and for as long as law and brokerage record-keeping rules require. If you joined the private list, your email address is kept until you unsubscribe. If you want something deleted sooner, ask (see below) and it will be removed unless the law requires it to be kept.

Email and text messages

Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL) requires consent before commercial emails or texts are sent. You give express consent by ticking the box on a form. In some situations the law also allows messages for a limited time, for example up to six months after you make an enquiry. Every commercial message will say who it is from and include a way to unsubscribe.

• see the personal information held about you;
• have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete;
• withdraw your consent, including to receiving messages, subject to legal requirements; and
• ask questions or raise a concern about how your information is handled.
